In the words of Alan Merrill,   "I love Rock 'n' Roll. Put another dime in the jukebox, baby".   Not only do I have a love for rock music, I also have an infatuation with the style that goes along with it, which is why this fall season's Rock 'n' Roll fashion trend is my favorite.

When I read that leather jackets,  fringe, messy hair, dark makeup, and thigh high boots are the latest trend, I was definitely ready to get on board.  It's such a relief to find easily accessible and affordable clothes in the style that I try to emulate often.  I look no further than Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, Debbie Harry of Blondie, and Carlene Carter for my style inspiration.

However, there is a down-side to this fashion craze and it is the very thing that is so wonderful about it-the accessibility factor.  I cringe at the thought of anybody who wants to be trendy throwing on a leather coat, believing that's what makes a rock star, without truly knowing what it means to be one, or simply knowing what it means to relate with the music, the lyrics,  and the attitude that it conveys.  I want in no way to see rock music be exploited or taken for granted by people who couldn't care less about it.

Maybe I should lighten up and let the trend run it's course.  I should relish in the fact that I can get cool, affordable clothes that I adore, without searching for hours for the right thing.  After all, trends come and go, but Rock 'n' Roll will never die.
